Pre/Post Care
Preparing for your appointment
1.
Please be sure to have read and signed all online consent forms prior to coming to your appointment. Consent forms will be sent to your email once you have booked an appointment. Arriving on time for your is important so that your lash artist has enough time to complete your service. Prepare to lay down for 60 to 210 minutes. Wear comfortable clothing to feel the most relaxed and pampered.
2.
It is best to arrive with thoroughly cleansed lashes (avoid makeup/cream/oil on or around the eye area for 1-2 days prior due to residue). This will leave more time for lashing!
3.
Refrain from caffeine consumption a few hours prior to your appointment. This will avoid jittery eyes and the need for bathroom beaks.
4.
If you wear contact lenses, you will be asked to remove them prior to starting treatment. The adhesive is attracted to moisture, which will dry out contacts lens. Be sure to bring your contact solution, contact lens case and glasses if needed.
5.
It is recommended to go over the After-Care and FAQ prior to the procedure to plan your schedule accordingly. Adding an extra 15 mins to the appointment is not a bad idea for photos and checkout afterwards.
6.
It is encouraged to do some research ahead of time and have an idea of the desired look you want before coming to your appointment. This will speed up the consultation, ensure the appointment goes smoothly and leave more time for lashing!
Lash Extensions
1.
You may have heard to not get your lashes wet for 24 hours after the appointment to allow your lashes to fully cure. It is in fact completely okay to get them wet immediately after. Properly applied extensions will not be affected. It is encouraged to wash your lashes daily with a gentle (oil free) foam cleanser with a brush, not only for the health of your lashes and eyes but also because *clean lashes last longer*. Focus on the lash line/roots as that is where all the debris, oil from the skin and make up builds up.
2.
Oil, dirt, and makeup residue prevents the lash glue from sticking properly. Clean lashes by gently rubbing them at the lash line with your finger/soft eyeshadow brush (DO NOT use a cotton Q-Tip, it will snag on the lashes). Rinse with cool water and lightly pat dry with a clean cloth or paper towel. Another possible alternative is using a portable fan/blow-dryer on cool setting to accelerate the drying process. Brush lashes daily, especially after cleansing to reopen fans and keep the lashes looking fresh.
3.
Book fills in advance to avoid any last-minute disappointments. It is perfectly normal to lose 1-5 lashes a day, it is a part of the lash cycle.
4.
Avoid oil and cream products (eye cream, serum, lotion, eyeliner, mascara etc) around and on the eye area as they leave a residue, making it difficult to attach the extensions. Mascara is extremely hard to clean off completely and residue may break down the glue.
5.
Do not rub, pick or pull on the lashes. Pulling out lashes prematurely may potentially lead to traction alopecia (permanent hair loss/stunted growth due to constant pulling of hair which damages the hair follicle)
6.
Avoid contact with extreme heat (ovens, blow dryers, lighters, campfire) as it may loosen the curl of the extensions and may cause the lashes to singe.
Lash Lift & Tint
1.
Avoid getting your lashes wet or applying any products for the first 24 hours (shower, steam, sauna, mascara) to allow the lashes and solutions to settle.
2.
Be very gentle with your lashes, they are still malleable during the first 24 hours. It is crucial to sleep on your back and avoid rubbing, picking or pulling them.
3.
Avoid oil based products for longer lasting results.
4.
If you have tinted your lashes, please note that it fades faster than your lashes de-lifting. They may wear off faster the more you wash your lashes. Avoid strong sun exposure as this will speed up the fading process.
5.
While a tint darkens the lashes and mimics the effects of mascara, you may use mascara if you wish. However, avoid waterproof mascara as the chemicals are harsh and very drying which will make your lashes brittle and prone to breakage, especially with the addition of aggressive products and rubbing to remove it. You may alt for an oil-free mascara.
6.
When your lashes feel dry, you may apply coconut oil or castor oil by brushing it onto your lashes with a spooly brush to nourish/condition them.
